Apparently, reality TV runs in the blood of local Cape Cod-native Chris Lambton. The landscaper, who can trace his reality roots to The Bachelorette, is set to star in a new HGTV reality show, according to a press release.
The show, aptly named going Yard, will chronicle the Dennis, MA native as he transforms backyards into “spectacular” outdoor entertainment spaces with patios, arbors, water features and fire pits. Lambton’s fiancé, Peyton Wright will also star in the show, helping design the yards and plan parties for the homeowners. Lambton currently operates E. Lambton Landscaping with his family in Dennis, MA.
Lambton was runner-up on Season 6 of The Bachelorette in 2010, in which he competed for Ali Fedotowsky’s love. known to audiences as “Chris L.,” Lambton was sent home the day before the final rose ceremony because Fedotowsky was in love with contest Roberto Martinez (not to leave you hanging on a thread- Fedotowsky and Martinez got engaged, but broke it off about a year later).
Wright also has roots in reality TV, starring in Season 10 of The Bachelor back in 2007, getting eliminated just three episodes in. She didn’t stay away from TV for long, though; she appeared in Season 1 of Bachelor Pad in 2010. The secret contract clause that says Bachelor stars must only date/marry/hang out with other Bachelor stars brought Wright and Lambton together in 2010 (OK, the clause doesn’t exist, but it is a pretty incestuous show).
While we can’t promise HGTV’s new “Going Yard” will be Emmy-worthy television, we do know that if it has even a smidgen of the drama that The Bachelor and its spin-offs have, its sure to be interesting. Ladies, you should watch just for the eye-candy. Gentlemen… well, maybe you can learn some tips to spruce up your backyard.
