Kim Kardashian’s move to divorce Kris Humphries may cost the locked-out NBA player a Las Vegas payday.

Reports surfaced Tuesday, a day after Kardashian filed for divorce, that the 6-foot-9 former University of Minnesota basketball star was backing out of his contract to host Saturday evening at Chateau at Paris Las Vegas.

A rep for Chateau said the club had not received a cancellation by Tuesday night.

Kardashian filed for divorce, citing "irreconcilable differences," after marrying Aug. 20 in a lavish ceremony.

They had held their bachelor and bachelorette parties in Las Vegas, with Humphries’ at Lavo (Palazzo) and Kardashian’s at Tao (Venetian).

Kardashian Khaos, the family’s lifestyle store at the Mirage, opened Tuesday, featuring everything from Las Vegas-themed T-shirts and poker chips to fans featuring the sisters’ faces, fashion lines and yo-yos. among the items: Khloe Kardashian and husband Lamar Odom’s bath line called "Unbreakable Bond."

The Kardashians will be attending the Dec. 15 grand opening.

Add longtime Broadway devotee Elaine Wynn to the list of "Book of Mormon" fans.

Wynn recently took in the controversial hit show during a trip to New York City with daughters Gillian and Kevyn.

She can understand the mixed reaction, but she came away with an appreciation for the creativity.

"I loved it," she said, during a red carpet interview at Andre Agassi’s Grand Slam for Children at Wynn Las Vegas.

"I thought it was a spoof of all religions. I think it points out how we all get caught up in metaphors, but what they really deserve to get credit for, with their positive attitude, in trying to help humanity.

"And you know, in a sense, it’s an indictment of religions because we all tell stories about things, about something that seems true but is not true, but the bottom line is all those people were trying to help other people. I thought the irreverence was hysterical, and yes some of the stuff was a bit shocking, but it was done in a very funny way."

She was in New York City for two weeks for meetings and fundraising for her pet project, Communities in School.

"We’re attempting to expand the program nationally. We serve 1.3 million, and we’re adding another 1.9 in the next 10 years. So we’re doing a lot of policy work and a lot of advertising and PR work so that we’re not the best-kept secret in America.

"And it’s quite extraordinary because we’re getting the kind of reputation that this organization deserves. It’s the fifth-largest youth-serving organization in the world."

Las Vegan Jimmy Kimmel is taking his zingers to the nation’s capital: He will host of the 98th annual White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner. Kimmel, who lived in Las Vegas from age 9 to 18 and attended Clark High School and UNLV, has been hosting his own late-night show on ABC since January 2003.

Services for Audrey Holmes, mother of Clint Holmes, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at good Samaritan Lutheran Church, 8425 W. Windmill Lane. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations go to Nathan Adelson Hospice. She died last month four weeks shy of turning 96.

Split means less of Humphries in LV

News broke earlier today that Kim Kardashian is filing for divorce only 72 days after tying the knot with NBA-er Kris Humphries. Kim is citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split, and we must admit, we are not shocked here in the MTV Newsroom.

Fights over the wedding venue and family vacations made us question this marriage before it began, but at least Kim is not alone in her decision to end things promptly! Not-so-happily-ever after seems to be a trend in Hollywood, and Kim and Kris are hardly the first, nor will they be the last, to call it quits after only a short time of marriage. some marriages last a lifetime, but in Hollywood the timeline (and normalcy associated with that given timeline) is a bit different.
